I belive what Micol wrote about Italian mens' view of the women is deeply related with the idea of woman not able to find her own mate and alway waiting for Mr. Right and the man chick-hunter. I think this is one of the thing which slow down the sexual revolution in Italy, assuming that there's been one. -
Yes.. maybe Italian guys still think that we -Italian women- always want to be sentimentally involved when we have sex with someone... The truth is that probably a part of Italian women are like that; on the contrary, the other half is more sexually free!
About the sexual revolution in Italy... well, I think there was one, as here as in the other countries, but here in Italy the sexual freedom has been very slowed down because of the presence of the Vatican, and of the Pope power on the people. I don't think it's because of the Pope.It's just a matter of culture.In the Nordic countries people grown up in a christian enviroments, yes, but their background consists in the old germanic one.They didn't have the concept of "sin", but they believed in a society dominated by the concept of honor.Our ancestor had it, and still today a sexual indipendent girl is still considered something like a bitch in countries like our one.
I must say that I don't like that much some kind of behaviours in the girls and in the guys too.But this is not the right place to argue about it.

And when not, well, I think it has been easier for them to develop a sexual indipendence, because they lived far from the Catholic centre!
