noi e la musica

Con i Supertramp ho trascorso gli anni più belli e spensierati della mia vita. Anni ruggenti, se vogliamo definirli così. Anni pieni di vita, di gioia,
inconsapevolezza... anni d'amore, giovinezza assoluta. Attraverso loro esprimevo il mio romanticismo, il mio amore per tutto ciò è bello, il mio
amore per la vita :

In quegli anni ho vissuto, ho amato, ho sofferto e goduto. E loro, i Supertramp, mi facevano sempre da colonna sonora, anche quando
mi sentivo arrabbiato, amareggiato, in contrasto con me stesso e con gli altri :

The Logical song è uno dei loro pezzi che più amo e che più mi rappresenta. Ma ovviamente ce ne sono molti altri che amo, che sento miei e che
rimarranno sempre dentro la mia anima. "School" è una di queste :

Ricordo che una volta, in auto, l'ascoltai ripetutamente per tutta la durata del tragitto. Tornavo dal porto di Milazzo verso casa, Augusta, 2 ore di tragitto con lo stereo dell'auto programmato sul "repeat song" e questo assolo di pianoforte semplicemente sublime.


Nota :
Dei brani che ho riportato da you tube, solo The logical song è originale, cioè tratta dall'LP dei supertramp. Gli altri brani sono riprodotti dall'ex appartenente al gruppo, Roger Hodgson, il quale, a metà degli anni '80 lasciò il gruppo per intraprendere la carriera da solista. Grandissima voce, quella di Hodgson, capace di emozionare ancora oggi che è grandicello. Però io resto affezionato al gruppo originale e al loro inconfondibile sound.

genere di atmosfere che si avvicinano ai Queen e Bee Gees ,rispettabilissime ma non sono il mio genere..

per l´impegno dimostrato ti regalo una canzone da presentare a tua moglie quando devi farti perdonare qualcosa...

Ieri comunque ho voluto omaggiare Roger Hodgson che è solo uno dei due cantanti del gruppo... quello che più canta in falsetto e che forse è stato il maggior compositore del gruppo... ma il prossimo post lo dedicherò a Rick Davies, l'altro cantante del gruppo (oltre che suonare il pianoforte).

Merita molto anche lui.

Purtroppo su you tube non ci sono brani del gruppo originale. Sono stati tutti tolti. Rimangono le performance di Roger da solista, che ripropone i brani scritti da lui, e le produzioni post Roger.... che vede Rick come unico compositore e cantante.

Vi offro un piccolo assaggio. Il brano Cannonball del 1985 :



da notare il particolare sound prodotto dal loro pianoforte. Unico nel suo genere, tanto che nelle tastiere di un certo valore, viene riprodotto come "piano o sound supertramp" (detto da un amico che fa piano bar), per chi volesse cimentarsi con i loro pezzi.
